The transit hubs in Tokyo are well known not only for their efficiency but also for their catalyzing economic power. The complexity of a transit hub is usually not achieved with one design. Can we understand the result of long-term evolution of multiple forces in a transit hub and provide suggestive methods for short-term design? As an attempt to answer the question, the research will extract a flexible model from real world data. The model has similar organization and pedestrian traffic pattern. An evaluation method can be created for boosting commerce utilizing pedestrian flows. The research will focuses on the businesses in and around the selected area in a transit hub. We will analyze the circulation space with video data during its off-peak hour and/or People Flow Data and model the space and pedestrian traffic with a method matching the detail level of the data. We will then create a diagrammatic model of the circulation system and the businesses around it and extract evaluation criteria in order to study the impact of changes in circulation space and rearrangement of service space on the system's performance.
