Multi-risks vulnerability in Kobe City

Background:The Port City of Kobe is celebrating its 150 years, but a long history does not mean that it is best prepared to meet multihazard coastal disaster risk. The author has identified issues combining tsunami + sea level rise + subsidence + storm/typhoon in the city, for which a disaster risk analysis is necessary.Aim:The present project aims to measure the structural vulnerability to the multihazard issue mentioned above. Process:In order to relate the different levels of multihazards - identified using the above mentioned combination - to the human constructs and the infrastructure, we propose to combine it with the data requested using a traditional GIS analysis. The two temporal dataset will then unable us to measure whether the city of Kobe is becoming less or more vulnerable to multihazards in the last 30 years.
